Canberra Region's tourism market growth exceeds nation

Tourism Research Australia (TRA) has released the key findings of the Product and Experience Audit of the ACT in a summary report.

In 2016, TRA in partnership with VisitCanberra, commissioned a Product and Experience Audit of the ACT and region to examine all tourism products and experiences, along with analysis of the region’s capacity to take advantage of current tourism trends such as nature-based tourism. The summary reports on the findings of the project, and provides recommendations for product and experience opportunities in the Canberra Region.

One of the opportunities put forward in the report was to develop trails linking food & wine experiences with key attractions and accommodation.

Renewable Energy Tours

RDA ACT's SERREE initative has this year started doing exactly that by packaging up tours for international delegations to combine the region's best food & wine experiences with guided tours of renewable energy sites.

Recently we have succesfully hosted delegations from Vietnam, Colombia, Pakistan, and international organisations including APEC and the South Asia Awards programme. So far we have worked in collaboration with Austrade, Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, Department of Environment and Energy, and the ACT Government.

We have partnered with regional food & wine champions such as Pialligo Estate, Lark Hill Winery, and Contentious Character Winery to showcase local and regional produce and make their stay in the Canberra Region memorable.

We look forward to hosting more tours into the future providing a holistic Canberra Region experience.
