Australian Capital Region Produce is exporting the first air cargo of perishables direct to Singapore on Singapore Airlines SQ 292 flight on Wednesday 9 August. Singapore businesses can place an order today and Canberra will fly out the produce on the next flight.

Leading local producers who are part of this first export include Pialligo Estate, Fedra Olive Oil, Helm Wines, Ravensworth Wines, Nick Spencer Wines, Lark Hill, Mada Wines and Nick O’Leary Wines.

Chris Hansen of Australian Capital Region Produce says, “We are pleased to work with any regional producers to unlock the Singapore market for them. Canberra has quality produce and wines which will be well-received in this discerning market.”

John Russell and Rowan Brennan from Pialligo Estate are excited to support the direct export to Singapore. “We are delighted to share the best of Canberra with Singapore, and support the Capital region’s growers to export to the world. Today we are exporting our award winning bacon, salmon, olive oil and wine.”

The first Singapore shipment is bound for an international hotel group, internationally recognised restaurants, gourmet providores and markets. Wednesday 9 August is an auspicious day to send the first Canberra export to this new market. It is the National Day of Singapore, the country’s major holiday celebrating Singapore’s independence.

This shipment is the culmination of many years of support from the Capital Airport Group, ACT Government, Singapore High Commission, Singapore Airlines, the Australian Government, industry and tourism groups, The Australian High Commission in Singapore and Austcham Singapore.
