Join the next Market Visit to China

China is Australia’s number one export market – the largest source of international students, most valuable tourism market, a major source of foreign direct investment and the largest agricultural produce market.

To maintain high levels of growth while supporting a transition to services and consumption, China is expected to import products and services valued at more than 10 trillion USD in the next five years. This enormous potential provides significant commercial opportunities for Australian and Canberra Region businesses.

Market Visit

Realising the importance of becoming China-export ready, Canberra Business Chamber is organising an exploratory Mission to Shanghai, aimed at Canberra Region businesses wishing to engage with China, but may not be ready to approach that market yet.

This educational trip is being developed around the First China International Import Expo (CIIE) that will take place in Shanghai, 5 – 10 November 2018. Exhibitors from 100 countries and regions will engage with 150,000 professional Chinese and international buyers, making the Expo an excellent opportunity to learn how other suppliers are engaging with China.

The Chamber is preparing a Program in the market from 4 – 7 November 2018, and the package for businesses will consist of:

  • Pre-mission meetings and briefings
  • Collateral and market guides
  • Access to China International Import Expo Pavilions
  • Site visits in the market and educational workshops/presentations on China-specific legal and IP related matters, marketing platforms, etc.
  • Evening networking cocktail event
  • Canberra delegation dinner
  • Post-mission briefing and support

Costs per participant: $950 + GST (excluding accommodation and flights).

In addition, registered participants will be provided with:

  • Exclusive accommodation package at Crowne Plaza Shanghai as Partner Hotel for this Mission (Deluxe room – AUD 257 + tax and service charges (breakfast included); Premier Club Room – AUD 325 + tax and service charges; including breakfast and Club Lounge use)
  • Discounted airfare offered by Singapore Airlines as Chamber’s airline partner

Envisaged dates for visiting the CIIE are 6 Nov (whole day) and 7 Nov (morning). The Chamber will register all participating delegates for the group entry passes to the Expo. For that purpose, please email one ID photo (600x800 pixels, white or blue background) and a scan/photo of the information page from your passport to trade@canberrabusiness.comby Friday, 14 September 2018 at 3 pm.
