RDA ACT - SERREE's Liz Veitch nominated for Actsmart Minister's Award for Leadership

Regional Development Australia ACT Executive Director Liz Veitch has been recognised for her leadership of the SERREE initiative receiving a nomination in the coveted Minister's Award for Leadership category at the 2018 Actsmart Business Sustainability Awards.

The Business Sustainability Awards were presented at a gala breakfast held Thursday, 24 May 2018 to recognise organisations and individuals who make an outstanding contribution to sustainability across Canberra and the broader ACT region.

SERREE (South East Region of Renewable Energy Excellence) is a regional renewable energy industry development initiative led by Regional Development Australia (RDA) ACT.

SERREE has been collaboratively funded by the Australian Renewable Energy Agency, the NSW and ACT Governments, RDA ACT and RDA Southern Inland, and business and industry stakeholders.

RDA ACT has shown leadership in bringing together the diversity of the Canberra Region’s sustainable energy stakeholders including business and industry, research and education, government and community, to collaborate and share knowledge to collectively progress the sector.

RDA ACT has utilised an agile and dynamic suite of industry development projects, initiatives and events to build its SERREE Network membership of over 1,000 stakeholders – making it Australia’s largest regional renewable energy industry network.

RDA ACT’s SERREE Project was recognised at the 2017 Regional Development Innovation Awards receiving the Environment and Sustainability Runner-Up Award.

SERREE events are powered using 100% GreenPower and RDA ACT recently facilitated energy efficiency upgrades to their office lighting and air conditioning systems.

SERREE Network Members Global Education Training Solutions (G.E.T.S.) received a nomination in the Small Business category and Ginninderry received the Innovation Excellence award for their best practice sustainable building project - The Link at Ginninderry which is a featured site along SERREE's Renewable Energy Trail initiative.
