Update: National Stronger Regions Fund Round One & Two

Current status:

About the National Stronger Regions Fund (NSRF) Programme

The NSRF programme will provide funding of $1 billion over 5 years, commencing in 2015-16, to fund priority infrastructure in regional communities.

Projects must deliver an economic benefit to the region beyond the period of construction and should support disadvantaged regions or areas of disadvantage within a region.

The NSRF-funded part of the project must be completed on or before 31 December 2019.

NSRF Round 1:

  • Round One of the National Stronger Regions Fund closed on 28 November 2014.
  • The Deputy Prime Minister has now announced successful Round One applications (May 2015).

NSRF Round 2:

  • Round Two of the National Stronger Regions Fund will open on 15 May 2015 and close on 31 July 2015.
  • Applications for Round Two must be submitted online through the Grants Management System (GMS) Portal. The link will be available on the Department of Infrastructure and Regional Development website.
  • Please avoid submitting an application at the last minute as high volumes of users can slow the system and may result in difficulties in completing your submission.
  • Applicants are encouraged to seek the support of their Regional Development Australia Committee for their project.

Information Sessions

Representatives from the Infrastructure Investment Division of the Department of Infrastructure and Regional Development will conduct information sessions on the NSRF for potential applicants and interested parties.
